An artist at heart and a student of history, Mr. Henney was drawn to the beauty of traditional craftsmanship long before the brand ever existed. He believed that fashion could be more than just something you carry:  it could tell a story.

The Inspiration

During his travels through Europe in the 1990s, Mr. Henney found himself in the historic town of Tournai. Surrounded by centuries-old castles and cathedrals, he discovered the intricate beauty of tapestry art: a craft rich in detail, texture, and history.
Unlike modern prints, these designs were woven thread by thread, each piece taking time, patience, and intention.
It was here that the idea was born: to bring this forgotten art into modern fashion.

After extensive exploration and experimentation with various materials and colors, Henney innovatively crafted designer handbags, marrying traditional techniques with modern production methods. His expertise in global fashion enabled the creation of an exquisite range, including backpacks, clutch bags, travel bags, crossbody and top handle handbags.

Defining the Signature

The inaugural collection paid homage to renowned British artist William Morris’s traditional tapestry works. Additionally, as a tribute to its British roots, Henney Bear‘s debut featured the Crown Bear theme, celebrating the global prominence of the Queen of England and the British Royal family.
